From Emma...
Jordan and I spontaneously decided to take a vacation. I believe that life needs some spontaneity and Jordan and I try to incorporate that as often as we can, while maintaining our sanity. Every now and again I get a feeling of restlessness and loneliness for home so we decided to go to Washington for a visit. We had such a good time. Part of what made it so wonderful is how it helped me reconnect with my roots. I was able to hit that reset button and start feeling excited about the possibilities in life again. While attending a presentation at the writers retreat these 3 things stuck out to me: Re-Set Re-Align Re-Start Coming home allowed us to reset. We stripped everything down that was going on in our life until we were left with the basics of what is important to us; Spirituality, family, creativity. This was our Re-Set. Once we were able to sift through and remember what we value and what the "why" is of our lives, we were able to Re-Align with each other and make a plan. After this all that was left was to Re-Start: to take everything we'd been conceptualizing and start applying it in a fresh way. Obviously, not everyone has the freedom to travel from state to state at their leisure, but the same opportunities to Re-Set can be found in any number of places. Pick a location that has meaning for you; a place that brings you peace. It can be a few days, a few hours, or even a few minutes. Use what you have. Assess what matters to you right now. Then think about what's missing or what is making too many appearances in the day to day. Follow it up by committing yourself to a mentally healthier you because simply put, you're worth it. Go spread that good!
